What is Zumba?
Zumba is the latest fitness craze that is sweeping the nation. It is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that provides an hour of excellent cardio activity mixed with fitness movements and a whole lot of fun! Women learn to dance to the popular Latin rhythms of merengue, salsa, chacha, cumbia, reggaeton and more all while getting a total body workout. The key to the success of Zumba Fitness is that while you are dancing and having fun – you forget that you are actually exercising! We like to call it exercise in disguise! All women regardless of age or ability are welcome to come on out to try a class! Latin dances are great fun and can be adapted for any fitness level.
Why take a Zumba Fitness class through AFC when there are so many other options?
Because Athletes for Christ is committed to Faith Based Fitness, not only are our classes good for the mind and the body but they are also good for the soul! AFC carefully selects its instructors to make sure they are on board with its mission. Our instructors take extra care with the selection of music and choreography to be certain that it is respectful so that the Lord can be glorified in every class. In addition, at the closing of each class, the instructor shares with the participants a “Grace for the Moment” from Max Lucado. What a fantastic way to get fit both physically and spiritually!
