ABOUT THE COACHING STAFF:

About Coach Weidman:

Coach Weidman has coached over twenty seasons of soccer ranging from buzzing U6 bumblebees to beginning a junior high program to high school varsity for both boys and girls. Having played the game he loves into his 40s, his passion for the game connects well with a gift for teaching. A teacher at heart, Coach Weidman knows that while life is so much bigger than soccer, the beautiful game is a part of an education that holds awesome potential to teach us many important life lessons, not the least of which are learning to be dependable and interdependent with others in meaningful relation. Coach Weidman has been married for 31 years, and he and his wife have four children, two who played soccer and swam in college, one heading off to play college field hockey at Kent State in the Fall, and one who is currently in eighth grade who plays a variety of sports. Coach Weidman teaches at camps, holds a USSF National D license, and anticipates learning a great deal more in the coming seasons as the AFC United team develops and grows together.

About Coach Coryell:

Coach Coryell grew up in Berks County where he played on various select teams, was Co-Captain of Tulpehocken’s 1987 State Championship Team, and was an All-County selection as a high school senior. He was a three year defensive starter for Messiah College and was part of a team that finished third in the country Division III. Coach Coryell began coaching when he graduated college by assisting with both high school and travel level play. He has coached rec, travel and premier soccer being the assistant coach for his son’s team whose rank rose to 11th in the country even though the coaches of the team accepted no payment. He has completed the NSCAA Advanced Regional Coaches Diploma and looks forward to learning more in the years ahead.
